Choir

Our music ministry is a vital component of our worship experience. Choir meets on Wednesday nights, and all are welcome to join. We are blessed with a partnership with Baylor School of Music, and we often have several Baylor music students and faculty singing with and playing for us.

Alongside the strong music ministry here at St. Matthew, the Fine Arts Ministry has encouraged the expression of worship through the visual arts. Each year, they host Art as Worship, an art exhibition and benefit, which is open to any artists who wish to participate. Additional information can be found at fineartsministry.blogspot.com

Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Pastors will always be on the front lines of care, especially during times of crisis, but there are always many more needs for ongoing, one-to-one care than pastors can effectively meet by themselves. The Women of ELCA includes Lutheran women who gather in more than 4,500 locations in the U.S. and the Caribbean, for service, study, advocacy, fellowship and more! WELCA embraces all kinds of ministries that support our mission of mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.

We partner with other community organizations such as Mission Waco, Shepherd's Heart, The Family Abuse Center, and more. Through these partnerships we serve God by loving our neighbors. 

Our Blessing Box is a way for our smaller congregation to make a difference right here in our community. We can love our neighbors around us and let them know that we see them and that we care through gifts of non-perishable food and household items.

Our quilters meet weekly for fun, fellowship, and fine craftsmanship. Creating up to 100 quilts each year, we are honored to donate these colorful comfort items to Lutheran World Relief.

Middle School and High School students spend time exploring their faith and what it means to live it out in their daily lives.
