ST. MATTHEW SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE NEWS

The St. Matthew Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 Academic Year.  College scholarships are awarded to undergraduate, graduate and seminary students based on academic performance, financial need, and church involvement. 


Eligibility:  2026 high school graduates and current college students are eligible to apply. See additional requirements below.

Application Requirements:  Official transcripts must accompany all applications. 

Application Deadline: Email all materials by June 28, 2026 to hcotner@cord.org and smlcoffice@stmattwaco.org.

Eligibility Requirements for St. Matthew Scholarship Funds

1. To be eligible, all applicants must be anticipating enrolling (or currently enrolled) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher learning as defined by the U.S. Department of Education. (https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.Aspx)

2. To be eligible for continued support, a student must be enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution (see #1) and be in good standing.  Students in good standing can reapply on an annual basis as long as they are making progress toward their chosen degree. Minimum 2.0 GPA must be maintained to qualify for continued funding.

3. A maximum of two applications can be submitted in a given application period from the same family unit (same surname).

4. Applicant family must be members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
